Nippon Express India establishes subsidiary dedicated to JIT logistics

June 7, 2011

Nippon Express (India) Co., Ltd. (“NE India”; Krishna Murthy, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Masanori Kawai, President), has established a wholly-owned subsidiary specializing in Just-in-Time (JIT) logistics within India - Nittsu Logistics (India) Private Limited - that went into full-scale operation on June 1.

NE India began last year expanding its “milk run” operations, and it has been in serious need of a high-quality competitive organization specializing in JIT logistics and capable of performing ordering, truck dispatch and cost management functions. The establishment of this new company will allow it to handle automotive-related logistics centered on the city of Chennai, transport and warehousing operations in the urban areas in and around Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, and trunk line transport connecting these cities. In conjunction with this launch, a 10,000m2 cross-dock warehouse has been opened on a plot adjacent to the Oragadam Industrial Park on the outskirts of Chennai.

Nippon Express remains committed to providing high-quality logistics services that meet the diverse transport needs of our customers in India, which continues to enjoy growth as a production base and consumer market.
